Kintsu: Beauty in Broken Things
Version 0.1.0 for Windows
https://dataluxttgames.com

Kintsu is a calm 3D game about kintsugi, the Japanese art of mending broken
pottery with lacquer and gold. You take over your great-aunt Michiko's small
workshop, fit broken things back together, trace their cracks in gold and read
the letters of the people they belong to.

HOW TO PLAY

1. Unzip the whole download first: right-click the zip file, choose
   "Extract All...", then "Extract".
2. Open the new folder and double-click Kintsu.exe.

Kintsu needs Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit) and graphics that support
Vulkan, which most graphics cards and built-in graphics from about 2016 on do.
It runs straight from its folder. There is nothing to install.

Play with a mouse. Drag to turn a piece and use the wheel to zoom. The tool you
need is picked for you. Esc pauses, and the game saves as you go.

"WINDOWS PROTECTED YOUR PC"

Kintsu is not code-signed yet, so the first time you open it, Windows may show
a blue box that says "Windows protected your PC". If you downloaded Kintsu from
dataluxttgames.com, click "More info", then "Run anyway". Windows should not ask
again for this copy.

YOUR SAVES

Kintsu saves your progress and settings on this PC only, in this folder:

    %APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\Kintsu

To open it, paste that line into the address bar of File Explorer and press
Enter. The folder also holds a log file and a graphics cache that the game
makes for itself.

Kintsu has no accounts and no ads, and it does not use the internet.

TO REMOVE KINTSU

1. Delete the folder you unzipped Kintsu into.
2. To remove your saves as well, delete the folder
%APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\Kintsu. If the Godot folder above it is then
empty, you can delete that too.

Kintsu installs nothing else and does not change any Windows settings.
